Making groups, creating organisations, working together, we are not alone. The more we talk the more we can share. The more we can share the more we can do. The more we do the better lives are for children and young people.

An open discussion for regional play associations – Yorkshire Play 11:15-12:15

We are keeping Yorkshire Play afloat and have managed to re-structure our organisation to survive. We are now a susstainable organisation and beginning to get more active. We are looking for support and ideas from other regional play associations to help us evolve and strengthen the support we can offer to our members. This session will tell you how to manage your database and run your website effectivly (ie without it costing you lots of money!) and will be a place to discuss the opportuntities and threats of a regional play assoiciation in the current climate.

Which way forward? Play England – Nicola Butler 12:30-14:00

Play England, the national play charity, is now a small charity
run mainly by volunteers. We believe that our key role is Making
the Case for Play at a national level, but this is increasingly
challenging due to cuts in our funding from national government.
We know that by working with our networks and partners
we can have far greater reach. We also know that partnership
working brings challenges of its own. In Summer 2015,
our members meeting initiated a Conversation about the Future of Play England as
the national body for children’s play. This workshop will provide another opportunity
to engage in this conversation and will look at how we can work together to make
the case for play.
